Going to Camarines Sur Watersports (CamSur) complex

Camarines Sur, located in the central part of the Bicol Region, south of Metro Manila, is accessible by air and land travel. Air Philippines (www.airphils.com) and Philippine Air Lines (www.philippineairlines.com) have daily flights to
Naga Airport in Pili and to Legazpi City respectively.

 

From Naga Airport in Pili, it takes approximately five minutes to reach CamSur. Upon arrival, tricycles are available going to CamSur for P150. . Please advise the driver that you want to go to the Provincial Capitol Complex where CWC is located. Signs are visible once you enter the gate. ( Note: Airport pick up for participants will be arranged, please just inform us of your arrival details)

If you are coming from Legazpi City, you need to rent a service vehicle. Price range of the rentals are from $53 to $55 (P2,500 to P3,000) for the 75-minute
ride to the town of Pili. Shuttles are also available from the airport but should
be booked ahead of time. While you're at CamSur, jeepneys and trikes are the best means of transportation. CamSur also offers scooter rentals but are only allowed within the Capital Complex. (Note: Special Arrangements should be made with Organizers if you are coming from Legazpi)

If coming from Manila by land, the travel would take about eight to ten hours
using the South Luzon Expressway.

About Camarines Sur

Camarines Sur is quite rich in beauty and natural resources. Being the largest among the six provinces in the Bicol Region both in terms of population and
land area, Camarines Sur has nature landmarks, unspoiled forestry, and prisitine beaches which are ideal for travel and tourism, adventure, sports or a plain rendezvous in the province.

Camarines Sur has two major cities-Naga City and Iriga City. Naga is the province's and the region's commercial, educational, financial, and cultural center, while Iriga City, a component city, is the center of the Rinconada area.

The white sand beaches and crystal clear waters of Camarines Sur blend perfectly with the summer weather. One attraction during summer is the 12-kilometer white-sanded beach in Pasacao.
Travelling from Naga City to Sabang, San Jose and by boat to Caramoan or directly by land through the Caramoan Peninsula Road, the traveler will marvel the beautiful beaches with fine white sand beside majestic limestone and marble mountains as well as a taste of adventure in its exotic islets with coves nearby.

For a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean, the Partido area and Mount Iriga
offer the best vantage point. As far as nature lovers are concerned, Camarines Sur has Mount Isarog, Malabay Falls, Lahuy Island, Animosola Island, Tayak Lagoon, Isla de Monteverde, Pinaglukaban Island and Umang Cave are
among the wonderful sites for adventure, sight seeing, scuba diving, photography or plain nature tripping.

Camarines Sur has a rich history as manifested in its in historic spots. There
is the Nahulugan Kampana in the municiplaity of Lagonoy, the belfry of the first stone church in the province which also serves as a link to the past. Meanwhile, the Emerald Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes in Calvario Hill in barangay San Francisco, Iriga City is popular destination especially during Holy Week
because it is the venue of the"Pagtanggal", the Iriga version of the re-enactment of the Passion of Christ.

Kinuwartelan, a Spanish garrison during the Spanish colonial period and
located in Brgy. Perpetual Help, Iriga City,is also a major destinatiion for local and foreign tourists.

There is no doubt one of the attractons of Camarines Sur is Sinarapan , the world's smallest fish found lin Lake Buhi. Further, the Bicolanos are noted for their fondness in in chili-hot dishes. Some of the famous dishes are the
"Natong (also known as laing) and Langkang Palusag,also known as "Ginataang Langka". Majority of the dishes are flavored and boiled in fresh coconut milk spiced with "labuyo".

Camarines Sur goes all out in the celebration of the Kaogma Festival commemorating its foundation of the province highlighted by a week-long celebration.
