Tri Travel Ironman Melbourne Tour 2012
The 2012 Ironman Asia Pacific Championship will be held for the first time

in Melbourne on Sunday March 25, 2012.

The inaugural event will see athletes swim 3.8km in the bay off Frankston, ride the incredibly fast EastLink Tollway for 180km and run the old Melbourne marathon course from Frankston to St Kilda, finishing at the St Kilda Sea Baths.

To assist you to have the best race possible Tri Travel have enlisted the help of local Ironman legend “Jimmy Noutsis” to everyone all that Melbourne has to offer.
From riding down Beach Road, to sipping lattes at Café Racer, Jimmy will help you have your best race week experience possible.

 

The tour will help you with the logistical challenges by arranging private buses to bike check-in and race start, as well as helping the spectators see the best parts of the course on race day.

Below is the proposed itinerary for race week:

 

Wednesday March 21:

Arrival at Urban St Kilda and team dinner

 

Thursday March 22:
Run last part of the marathon course
Swim at St Kilda Sea Baths

 

Friday March 23:
Easy ride finishing at Café Race for coffee
Preferred seating at the Ironman Welcome Party

 

Saturday March 24:
Bike Check-in: Private Bus and Van to take athletes to check-in at Frankston
Easy Swim at Frankston swim course returning home via the bike course

 

Sunday March 25:
Private Bus to swim start for athletes
Spectators bus for guests to view Bike Leg on EastLink Tollway
Bus for guests to view Run leg and finish
Bikes returned to the finish line on private van by experienced Tri Travel staff

 

Monday March 26:
Breakfast with Pro Athlete
Preferred Seating at Awards Party
