Ironman Japan
The Ironman Japan Tour is a wonderful experience combining a great race with an incredible cultural exchange. The Con Cana Resort, where we are positioned, is the most ‘western style’ accommodation on the island. It is set mid-way along a mountain road (just a few kilometres from town) with great views, swimming pools and an incredible outdoor hot spring spa – a favourite amongst all tour members. The rooms are very clean and have a daily cleaning service.

The daily breakfast menu is extensive and has Japanese and Western style choices. You can also order lunch at the Con Cana restaurant and we often have team dinners together here at night, which is always a lot of fun. Mike, our translator, helps tour members with the menu. Food in Japan is different, obviously, but we take tour members shopping and assist you with what to buy. Fruit and vegetables can be a little expensive at times but overall eating out is very reasonable. The great thing about the food in Japan is it is extremely fresh and of great quality, making it very easy to eat out while preparing for the event.

Overall, the Con Cana resort is perfect for both the athlete and their partners – the new pool was a big hit at the 2009 Tour with everyone. There seemed to be a lot of partners sitting around sipping on drinks with umbrellas!

The Tri Travel Tour is a great way to meet people and travel to a non-western country like Japan.
Tri Travel takes care of everything from your initial inquiry until you leave the beautiful island of Goto. During the week we have on hand a Japanese speaking tour guide who lives on the island, Mike Carter, who has also raced the event. During the week Tri Travel’s Shane Smith and Mike will take you over all parts of the course, arrange training sessions, transfers to all functions as well as host their infamous Karaoke Party after the race awards ceremony. A special tour of the city is also hosted by Mike and the whole tour is a great way for athletes, family and friends to interact with other supporters during race day!
